In the course of studying a database with information about people who gave themselves Botox injections, experts found one pattern. Those who gave injections in four different places on the face were less likely to suffer from anxiety disorders. In particular, their risk of developing such disorders was 22-72% lower.
Earlier in 2020, a team of scientists found that patients who received Botox shots were much less likely to complain of depression than other people.
More research is also needed to determine the mechanism by which Botox reduces anxiety, as well as to identify the best injection site and dose to help with anxiety disorder.
