Sber software has degraded the resolution in its inexpensive TVs

Owners of budget smart TV models from SberDevices have noticed that with a recent software update, the picture has become less clear. It turned out that the production deliberately lowered the resolution.

We are talking about reducing the resolution of the Salyut TV user interface from 1080p to 720p on budget models with a screen diagonal of 32 and 43 inches. This happened after updating the TV firmware to version 1.89.60.

The manufacturer responded to a request from Kommersant and explained the reason for this decision. It turned out that the company decided to optimize the resolution of displayed interface elements on these models to improve response speed. This is probably due to the lack of processing power on TVs. And if users still want to return the old resolution, they will have to manually download and install the previous version of the firmware.

SberDevices clarified that this innovation will not affect the resolution of the played content in any way – TVs can still display video in 1080p format. At the same time, users report that after the update, the image is output with a limit of 720p from other devices connected via HDMI.
