New Delhi: Facebook’s parent company Meta has appointed Sandhya Devnath as its new India head and vice president. Sandhya will now be seen acting in place of Ajit Mohan. Sandhya Devanathan will assume her role effective January 1, 2023 and will report to Dan Neary. is Meta’s Vice President for APAC. Ajit Mohan resigned earlier this month. Sandhya is considered an expert in gaming. She is always encouraging to bring women into the gaming industry.
According to the report, Ajin Mohan will be associated with Snapchat. Ajit Mohan took over as managing director of Facebook India in January 2019. Devanathan has been working at Facebook since 2016. He was instrumental in expanding the company’s business in Singapore and Vietnam.
In 2022, Sandhya Devanathan headed Gaming for the APAC region. She is the Executive Sponsor of [email protected] in Meta. Devanathan is also the Global Lead for Play Forward. This is a big project by Meta to differentiate itself in the gaming market.
Meta recently laid off 11,000 employees. Speaking after the job cuts, Meta CEO and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said it was the most difficult change in Meta’s history. The company took this step and therefore apologized to the employees. In a letter to employees, Zuckerberg said the company had to make the decision due to declining revenue and an industry crisis.
