Samyang has announced a 135mm autofocus telephoto lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.8 designed for Sony E-mount cameras.
The Samyang 135mm F1.8 lens consists of 13 elements in 11 groups, including 3 extra-low dispersion elements, 2 high refractive index elements and an aspherical element. The lens has an 11 blade aperture. It is designed for filters with a diameter of 82 mm. The minimum focusing distance is 69 cm. On full-frame cameras, the lens provides an angle of view of 18.9º, and on APS-C format cameras it is 12.5º.
Autofocus is performed by a Samyang Linear STM linear stepping motor. Lens controls include a focus hold button, a programmable button, and a focus range limiter (which only works in autofocus mode). According to the manufacturer, the lens is protected from “light rain, snow and dust.” The lens length is 130 mm, diameter is 94 mm, weight is 772 g.
The Samyang AF 135mm F1.8 lens is expected to go on sale in March 2022. The manufacturer’s website is already open for pre-orders. The price of new items is $999.
