Samsung lost again. Tesla selects TSMC as the sole manufacturer of its automotive processors

Samsung continues to lose to TSMC. Tesla reportedly chose the second company to manufacture its automotive processors, which manage the FSD autopilot function.

New solutions will be produced according to the standards of 4 and 5 nm. Thanks to the rather impressive sales volumes of Tesla cars, the company will become the seventh largest customer of TSMC in 2023.

Previously, Tesla placed orders with both TSMC and Samsung, but apparently the technology of the former is much better now. How big the order lost Samsung is unknown.

You may recall that Qualcomm has also completely switched to TSMC’s capacities, but at the same time stipulated that it was not going to say goodbye to Samsung at all.
