Sales of two wheelers declined in April, only so many vehicles were sold

Two Wheelers Sales Report April 2023: Last month, in April 2023, retail sales of two-wheelers have decreased by 7.30 percent year-on-year. Due to the implementation of new OBD2 emission standards from 1 April 2023, this effect was seen in this segment. Because of this the prices of vehicles have also increased. The total retail sales of two-wheelers during the last month stood at 12,29,911 units, which is 7.30 percent less as compared to 13,26,773 units in April 2022.

Hero MotoCorp and Honda’s sales declined

Hero MotoCorp and Honda reported year-on-year declines during the last month, while TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto and Suzuki reported year-on-year improvement in sales. Hero MotoCorp sold 4,10,947 units in April 2023, while in April 2022 it sold 4,55,287 units. During this, Honda’s sales also decreased to 2,44,044 units in April 2023, which was 2,94,952 units in April 2022. At the same time, the market share of TVS iQube increased from 14.76 percent to 16.93 percent, due to which the company’s sales have increased. In April 2022, the company sold a total of 95,773 units.

bajaj sales increased

Retail sales of Bajaj Auto to increase from 1,40,602 units sold in April 2022 to 1,46,172 units in April 2023. During this, 370 units of Bajaj Chetak electric scooter were sold. Retail sales of Suzuki motorcycles are also expected to increase to 61,660 units in April 2023 as against 44,897 units sold in April 2022. Also, Royal Enfield sales also saw an increase with 60,799 units sold in April 2023, as against 49,257 units sold in April 2022. But the sales of Yamaha Motors decreased to 38,065 units last month as against 43,987 units sold in April 2022. Also, there has been a decrease in two wheeler sales of other companies in the last month.

Increased sales of electric vehicles

Electric Two Wheeler Retail Sales Ola Electric remained the largest EV manufacturer in the segment in April 2023, where Ola sales increased to 21,882 units in April 2023 as compared to 12,708 units sold in April 2022. Along with this, the market share of the company also increased from 0.96 percent to 1.78 percent. Ola sells the S1, S1 Air and S1 Pro electric scooters in India. At the same time, retail sales of Ampere Electric Two Wheelers have also increased to 8,318 units in April 2023 as compared to 6,540 units sold in April 2022. Ather Energy finished at the bottom of the list with retail sales of 7,746 units.
