On the other hand, in the month of March last year, the company had sold 3,69,448 units of vehicles. Apart from this, talking about domestic sales, in March 2021, the company sold 1,98,551 units of vehicles, while this year Bajaj Auto has sold 1,26,752 units of vehicles in the domestic market.
The company’s sales have declined by 36 per cent year-on-year this year. Talking about the exports made by the company, in March 2022, 1,70,436 units of vehicles have been sold in the overseas market. Bajaj Auto’s two-wheeler business saw a sharp decline last month, while sales of its commercial vehicles increased.
In the two-wheeler segment, Bajaj Auto’s domestic sales have been recorded at 1,07,081 units last month, as compared to 1,81,393 units of vehicles last year. This year the company’s two-wheeler segment has registered a decline of 41 percent in sales. Exports have remained stable at 1,49,243 units in March 2022.
At the same time, in March 2021, the company exported 1,48,740 units of vehicles. Talking about the company’s commercial vehicles, in March 2021, the company sold 17,158 units of commercial vehicles in the domestic market, while in March this year, 19,671 units of vehicles were sold. The sales of this segment have grown by 15 percent on a year-on-year basis.
On the other hand, the export of commercial vehicles has come down by about 4 percent as compared to last year. While in the month of March last year, the company had exported 22,157 units of commercial vehicles for overseas markets, in the month of March this year, the company has sent out 21,193 units of commercial vehicles.
In terms of year-on-year sales, Bajaj Auto’s overall sales grew by 8 per cent in FY 2021-22. The company has sold a total of 43,08,433 units in the financial year 2021-22, as against 39,72,914 units in the financial year 2020-21.
Two-wheeler sales grew 6 per cent to 38,36,856 units in the last fiscal, driven by a steady increase in export numbers, while commercial vehicle sales stood at 4,71,577 units at the end of the year. The company’s year-on-year sales have grown by 28 percent.
