Russian specialists are poised to develop a robot control system for furniture production. Experts from the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI) are currently working on a new system designed to sort and move parts within furniture manufacturing facilities. This innovative system will utilize technical vision to capture and identify furniture components, transmitting their coordinates to robotic manipulators.
The project entails the integration of industrial robots, stereo cameras, software powered by neural networks, and other cutting-edge equipment.
Representatives from the university emphasized that the development of such a system necessitates significant time and financial investment. However, its implementation is expected to enhance production efficiency, ensuring greater accuracy and speed in the furniture assembly process. Moreover, this initiative is set to bolster the robotics industry within the country and elevate the competitiveness of Russian manufacturers in the global market.
