The representative of the Russian Post confirmed the application, but clarified that the company does not consider the subsidy to be help only to the Russian Post. He considers it to be the beginning for the subsequent support of manufacturers and developers of unmanned vehicles.
The company noted that the project will be able to reach recoupment only by 2035, and before that, the cost of delivery by drones will be more expensive than the traditional method. The reasons for this situation are the high cost of cars without a driver and the impossibility of further saving on wages.
Preliminary data shows that autonomous vehicles will cost 8-18 percent more than conventional vehicles.
