Russian “Mikron” began serial production of NFC chips for a system of fast payments

The Mikron group of companies has mastered the serial production of NFC chips for use in the fast payment system. This was announced by the head of the department of investment and industrial policy of Moscow Vladislav Ovchinsky.

In Moscow, 48 enterprises are engaged in microelectronics, which employ more than 10 thousand people. They work on innovative technological solutions, as well as create new unique products. Thus, a resident of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone has developed and mastered the production of an NFC tag that can be used in fast payment systems. It meets all modern security standards, is resistant to mechanical damage and does not require a special readerOvchinsky said.

The press service of the department explained that the NFC chip allows you to pay for purchases instantly. For non-cash payment for goods or services, it is enough to consider a special tag as a smartphone with an NFC module. The new tag for contactless payments is made on the basis of a first-level domestic microcontroller, and this is the only Russian microchip that meets international standards. The chip transmits data at a frequency of 13.56 MHz, providing contactless transmission of information at a distance of up to 100 mm. The chip is used in RFID tags for marking a wide range of objects, including wood, metal, glass, plastic, paper. The manufacturer is already ready to supply chips.
