According to Interfax, there are currently no enforcement proceedings against Telegram. Previously, there were six cases. All of them concerned the refusal of the messenger to remove content prohibited in the Russian Federation.
In this regard, Russia regularly finishes other IT giants, including Google, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, WhatsApp. At the moment, enforcement proceedings are underway to collect fines for a total amount: against Twitter – 34.7 million rubles, Facebook – 17 million rubles and Google – 8.5 million rubles.
Today it also became known that Google has lost the case on blocking the Russian YouTube channel “Tsargrad”. Now the company must unblock it, and if it refuses to comply with the court’s decision, from December 23 it will have to pay a penalty in the amount of 100 thousand rubles a day.
