Researchers from the Perm Polytechnic University have developed a new technology, thanks to which, when creating asphalt concrete, natural raw materials will now be replaced with polyethylene. Read more about development in the article.
Specialists from the Perm Polytechnic University have proposed a new method that allows using plastic waste instead of natural raw materials in road construction. This method was described in a publication in the scientific journal “Chemistry. Ecology. Urbanistics”.
Experiments have shown that asphalt concrete with polyethylene has the same properties as a similar material with natural raw materials. In addition, the production of asphalt concrete with plastic waste is even cheaper: by 5-7 percent. Larisa Rudakova, head of the Department of Environmental Protection at the Perm Polytechnic University, spoke about this.
