New York. Amidst the ongoing war in Ukraine, many countries of the world and international organizations have already imposed many tough sanctions on Russia. Now the iPhone company Apple has taken action against Russia. Apple on Tuesday announced a ban on the sale of all products in Russia. Apple has removed Russian news apps RT and Sputnik from the App Store. Earlier, the company had banned the service of Apple Pay in Russia.
According to a statement issued by the company, Apple has stopped exports across all sales channels in Russia. The company says that they are monitoring the situation and are in talks with the government of the affected countries.
Governments and big companies of many Western countries, including the US, have drawn international criticism against the attack on Ukraine. At the same time, efforts are being made to isolate Russia on many fronts. From banking, sports to vodka, many countries and organizations have banned it.
Last week Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov wrote an open letter to Apple, in which he called for Russia to be removed from the company’s products, services and App Store. He said such a move would have an impact on the youth and the people of Russia would oppose the intentions of his army.
No more @Apple product sales in Russia!
Now @tim_cook let’s finish the job and block @AppStore access in Russia. They kill our children, now kill their access!

Apple said, ‘We are deeply concerned by Russia’s attack on Ukraine and stand with all those who are suffering this violence. We have taken several steps as a response to this attack. Last week we stopped the export of all cell channels to Russia. Apple Pay and other services have also been limited.
After Apple’s decision, Mykhailo Fedorov tweeted and informed about stopping the sale of Apple products in Russia. He said that he has also demanded to stop access to the App Store.
Google has also taken this step
Apple has not given much information about the App Store in its statement. However, the company has reduced the traffic and live incident feature of Apple Maps in Ukraine. Note that Google has also taken such a step before Apple. Google has also turned off Google Maps traffic data in Ukraine.
Instagram blocked RT’s accounts
Apart from this, Instagram has also blocked all the pages of Russian Times, the official news channel of Russia.
