The algorithms that can distinguish birds have been developed from a database of photographs from ornithological organizations. According to the authors, the development will become indispensable in the organization of safe air traffic, as well as for educational purposes.
One of the students who participated in the design explained that the feathers of many birds, especially the small taupe ones, look almost the same and are difficult to distinguish even for professional bird watchers.
Previously, such definitions required a DNA test or manual search, while the new tool will allow you to analyze information without human intervention. Thus, it will be possible to quickly understand how to scare away unknown species of birds that can interfere with aircraft on the territory of airports.
