Rupee Vs Dollar: Today, there is a big decline in the Indian rupee against the US dollar and it has opened with a fall of 20 paise. The movement of the rupee is seen very slow in the early trade today. The rupee has opened lower by 20 paise at 79.45 against the dollar, whereas it had closed at 79.25 in the previous trading session i.e. on Friday, August 5.

The rupee has started on a decline, today it has gone down to Rs 79.54 in the first hour of trading. Today, the rupee has touched the level of 79.54 against the US dollar, while on the upside, it has gone up to the level of 79.44 per dollar.

Currency traders said continued inflow of foreign funds had helped curb the fall of the rupee, but selling increased at the opening of trading in the rupee. Meanwhile, the dollar index, reflecting the US dollar’s position against the six major currencies, fell 0.05 per cent to 106.57.

Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 0.45 per cent higher at $95.35 per barrel. According to provisional data of the stock market, foreign institutional investors bought shares worth a net Rs 1,605.81 crore on Friday.
