Industry insider and head of Display Supply Chain Consultants Ross Young has published a new report on the popular brand’s upcoming releases. According to him, Apple is developing two devices with a folding display at once – in addition to a smartphone, a new “apple” laptop will also acquire a flexible matrix.
According to the source, the debut of the iPhone in the clamshell form factor will take place no earlier than 2025. Now, according to Yang, Apple is also working on a new category of branded products – laptops with a folding screen of about 20 inches with a resolution of 4K or higher. It is reported that the vendor is already negotiating with suppliers of flexible displays to order such panels.
An unusual laptop should become a multifunctional device. By bending the screen at an angle, it can be used as a laptop with a full-size touch keyboard, and when opened, the portable PC will turn into a monoblock with the ability to connect external peripherals. As for the timing of the release, according to Ross Young’s forecasts, the first Apple laptop with a flexible matrix will enter the market only after 2025.
