The research center of the Superjob.ru portal conducted a survey in which 1,600 Russians took part, representing the economically active population in 388 settlements of the country.
The topic of the study was artificial intelligence, the survey participants were asked the question “Are you afraid of the development of artificial intelligence?”. 17% of the respondents answered positively to this question, 43 said they were not afraid of this, and 40% found it difficult to answer.
Fear of the development of artificial intelligence systems is more typical for women and adults over 45 years of age. What are the Russians afraid of? The same as the inhabitants of other regions. Yes, artificial intelligence can lead to massive job losses.
Also, the Russians are afraid of the lack of control over the development of artificial intelligence, the degradation of humanity, the emergence of uncontrolled situations, the use of artificial intelligence for military purposes and, of course, the scenario with the apocalypse due to the uprising of machines.
The aforementioned 43% of Russians are not afraid of artificial intelligence, believing that it will never replace a person, it will be able to simplify our life, while people will always be able to control it.
