Insider Digital Chat Station published the results of a comparative test of two gaming flagships based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Despite the similarity of key characteristics, Redmi K50 Gaming Edition and Nubia Red Magic 7 Pro showed different results – as it turned out, the capabilities of a powerful chip depend on the efficiency of the cooling system .
As a benchmark, the authors of the experiment used the games Peacekeeper Elite and League of Legends. The average frame rates on the Redmi K50 and Red Magic 7 Pro were 89.1 and 89.8 fps respectively, but the Nubia gadget performed better in the long run. In long sessions, the Redmi smartphone dropped from 60 to 56.3 fps, while the Red Magic 7 Pro kept the bar at 58.7 fps.
More stable operation of the device was ensured by increased power consumption – at peak load it was 9.2 W against 5.9 W of the opponent. At the same time, the Nubia flagship did not “fell” into throttling thanks to the active cooling system. The bloggers who conducted the testing also noted that even with a passive cooler, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition showed better results than the Motorola Edge X30.
