The Chinese company Xiaomi announced the Redmi K40S smartphone running the Android 12 operating system with a proprietary add-on MIUI 13. The device is already available for pre-order.
The novelty is equipped with a 6.67-inch Full HD + AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. In the center in the upper zone of the screen is a small hole: it houses a 20-megapixel front camera.
At the back is a three-camera system. This is a 48-megapixel main unit with a Sony IMX582 sensor and optical stabilization, an 8-megapixel module with wide-angle optics (119 degrees) and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor is used, which combines eight Kryo 585 cores with a clock speed of up to 3.2 GHz, an Adreno 650 graphics accelerator and a Snapdragon X55 5G cellular modem. The amount of RAM is 6, 8 or 12 GB, the capacity of the flash drive is 128 or 256 GB.

The equipment includes a side fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax and Bluetooth 5.1 adapters, two speakers, an infrared port, a USB Type-C connector. Power is provided by a 4500 mAh battery with support for 67-watt charging.
The Redmi K40S smartphone is priced between $280 and $380 depending on the memory size.
