Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: Railways is making many changes to provide modern facilities to the passengers. In this sequence, the Railways is now considering taking another big decision. To connect railway stations with modernization, Amrit is considering redevelopment of 1000 small railway stations across the country under Bharat Station Scheme. Let us tell you that before this, Railways has announced to renovate 200 railway stations.
According to PTI report, 1000 small stations will not be selected only on the basis of number of passengers, but will also be selected city wise. It has been said in the official statement that the purpose of redeveloping these stations is from developing the developing cities to connecting the cities with modernization.
Funds will be released for the development of stations
Railway official told PTI that these stations will be rejuvenated and linked to modernization, for which work will be done by the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM). Large funds can be released to develop these stations, in which special funds will be released for DRM.
Master plan will be ready
If it is agreed upon, a master plan will be prepared soon to modernize 1000 stations. Under this master plan, modern facilities like Roof Plaza and City Center will be started at railway stations under minimum essential facilities. According to PTI, apart from introducing new facilities, the plan also aims to upgrade and replace existing facilities.
What will change at these stations
According to the documents, the modernization of these railway stations will include widening of roads, removal of encroachments, construction of footpaths, development of parking areas and installation of modern lights. Also, other major changes can be made at these stations.
