Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday addressed the slum-based conference in the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. It is claimed that more than 3,000 people participated in it. With this campaign, Amit Shah further intensified BJP’s attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Raising the slogan “AAP-da nahi sahenge”, Shah accused the Kejriwal-led government of betraying Delhi slum residents and promised to provide “a permanent house to every slum dweller” under the BJP rule.
Promises amid criticism of AAP
Amit Shah assured the gathering that BJP has taken note of all their complaints, which have been handed over to BJP President JP Nadda and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for action. Shah said, “We will ensure that all your problems are resolved. Our manifesto will include your needs and, unlike yours, it will be met.”
Describing AAP as a “disaster” for Delhi, Shah strongly criticized Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and accused him of failing the city in the last decade. He highlighted issues such as:
– Lack of free electricity and basic development in slum areas.
– Poor infrastructure with potholed roads and polluted air and water, including the Yamuna river.
– Unfulfilled promise of quality education, claims that 5.25 lakh students are deprived of access to schools.
Shah said, “The country has progressed under the leadership of Modi ji, but Delhi is still waiting for development. Kejriwal has betrayed the people, Anna Hazare, Punjab and his voters.”
BJP’s vision for Delhi’s slums
Reiterating the BJP’s commitment, Shah announced, “Under the leadership of Modi ji, 3.58 crore houses have been given across India. But Kejriwal failed to provide housing to the slum dwellers. BJP will ensure that every resident gets a ‘pucca house’.”
He also assured the people present at the gathering that the BJP will not stop any existing welfare scheme, as AAP has been continuously alleging.
‘We fulfilled such promises which others could not do’
Amid slogans of “Jai Shri Ram”, Amit Shah referred to the BJP’s ideological commitments, saying, “We built the Ram temple after 550 years, abrogated Article 370 and made promises that others did not dare to make.” Get it. “Slum residents should now take the responsibility of freeing Delhi from this disaster.”
He urged the people present at the conference to become the “Liberator of Delhi” by not voting for Kejriwal in the upcoming elections. Shah said, “Arvind Kejriwal is running away from Modi ji’s popularity, but Modi ji is like the sun – you cannot escape his light.”
Slum residents will give a befitting reply on February 5: Shah
Let us tell you that BJP is using this campaign to strengthen support among the deprived communities of Delhi, establishing itself as a party of liberation. The promises of housing, infrastructure and welfare are aimed at countering the AAP narrative and addressing the growing discontent among slum dwellers.
Shah said the slum residents of Delhi will give a befitting reply on February 5 for betraying AAP and Kejriwal, failing to clean Yamuna river and committing the sin of building Sheesh Mahal.
