Pedestrian crossings with projection “zebras” have appeared in Russia, as reported by the Safe and High-Quality Roads Telegram channel.
According to the publication, this year in 10 projection “zebras” will appear in 10 objects of the Kaluga region. Pedestrian crossings are equipped with U-shaped supports with projectors that project white and yellow markings onto the roadway.
This markup does not replace the existing markup, but duplicates it. At night and in bad weather, it is visible for 100-150 m and gives the driver the opportunity to notice pedestrians in time. The advantage of the zebra is also that it will not be erased over time.

The source adds that this technology has already shown its effectiveness in some regions and has significantly reduced the accident rate in hazardous areas.
