A new luxury brand called BeyonCa, created by former Volkswagen China chief executive Su Weiming, has entered the Chinese market. The first car of the brand called GT Opus 1 will be released in 2024, and the concept has already been presented to the public.
BeyonCa is positioning the GT Opus 1 as a competitor to the Porsche Taycan. Its production under the contract will be done by the Chinese auto giant Dongfeng. The model is a luxury sedan in a streamlined body with a minimalist design, excellent aerodynamics and original five-spoke wheels. The length of the car body will be 5.2 m with a wheelbase of 3 m.
BeyonCa has also partially declassified the interior of the GT Opus 1. The new luxury sedan will receive a D-shaped sports steering wheel, an unusual illuminated armrest and a clock on the front panel. GT Opus 1 will be built on an electric 800-volt platform and will receive a battery with a capacity of up to 130 kWh.
The manufacturer did not specify engine power and acceleration time. It is known that along with the regular version, a “charged” model called GT Opus 1 R will appear on the market.
The car should start in China at a price of 135 thousand dollars.
