Porsche commences deliveries of the Taycan electric sports car in India

Porsche India launched its first electric offering, the Taycan sports car, in November 2021 at a starting price of Rs 1.50 crore (ex-showroom, India). Now, the German carmaker has started the deliveries of the electric sports car in India, and the first Taycan turbo in green mamba metallic color has been delivered in Delhi-NCR. The interiors of the Rs 2.08 crore Taycan Turbo have got a truffle brown theme. The car competes with the Audi e-Tron GT in the segment and is available in four trims – Taycan, Turbo, Turbo S, and 4S.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo gets two electric motors, which are mounted on each axle. Overall it produces 625 bhp and 850 Nm. The car’s 93.4kWh battery promises a range of 420 km. The battery can be charged 100 percent in 9 hours with 11kW AC socket. On the other hand, using a 50kW rapid-charger charges the battery to 80 percent in about one and a half hours, while the 350kW ultra-rapid charger brings that time down to 20 minutes. A regular household plug can also be used to charge, although the charging time will be longer.

The material used to enhance the premium appeal in the cabin of the car is superb. The Taycan gets a host of features and two screens to control the infotainment, where haptic feedback has been given. The boot of the car has 366 liters of space, but most of it is filled with battery.
