As the resource Motor1 reports, Toyota and Subaru decided to stop selling their available sports cars Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ (this is, in fact, the same model, but with different badges and design) in Europe. The machines will not disappear from sale momentarily – they will be purchased for at least a few more months, but then – that’s it.
The law that hits the last nail in the grave «Toyobaru» is called «General Safety Rules 2». Any models that do not meet the requirements of the law will not be registered from July of the current year, and this applies not only to light cars, but also to trucks, buses and other vehicles. The law contains many new requirements to the safety of cars, one of them – the presence of a «black box», which will save all the parameters of the car within five seconds before the accident and 0,3 seconds after it.
Modification of previously produced cars so that they correspond to the conditions of the new law is in many cases pointless: otherwise the car will turn out to be so expensive that it will be difficult to sell it. This is why the petrol Porsche Macan comes out of Europe.
