The name of a Rajasthan Police constable has come to light in a sensational robbery case. It is alleged that the constable posted at Haat Maidan police station of Rajkheda police station of Dholpur district had carried out the robbery incident in Nibohra police station area of Agra district of Uttar Pradesh.
On October 9, 2024, the accused constable had beaten a young man and looted cash and mobile phone. Actually, the victim youth Shivam, resident of Toda police station Mansukhpura, was returning to his home on bike at 8 pm on 9 October 2024. Here, two miscreants riding a bike chased him and stopped him at Lalpur intersection in Never area of Agra district. The miscreants beat up Shivam and looted Rs 20,000 in cash, a mobile and a tablet from his pocket.
On the complaint of this incident, the police registered a case and started investigation and during the investigation, on the information of the informer, a suspect was arrested from Sahved intersection. During interrogation, he revealed his name as Prashant Kumar, who is a resident of village Mothiya Pura of Sarmathura police station area of Dholpur district and is a constable in Rajasthan Police. Presently he was posted at Haat Maidan police post under Rajkheda police station of Dholpur district. The accused constable was absent from duty for the last 15 days.
Accused Prashant told during police interrogation that he along with his partner Ankit, resident of Bairagi Mohalla Rajkheda Dholpur, had carried out the robbery. Both of them had divided the looted 20 thousand rupees among themselves. Police have recovered Rs 3,200 in cash and the looted mobile from Prashant. The police have arrested the accused constable Prashant Kumar and presented him in the court, from where he has been sent to judicial custody. The accused, along with his partner, had committed the robbery. His partner Ankit is still absconding. The police is raiding various places in search of him and is tracing his location with the help of CCTV footage. Accused Prashant Kumar is addicted to alcohol and was recruited as a constable in Rajasthan Police in the year 2018.
