PM Modi gifted 150 electric buses to this city, 33 seats capacity and will be equipped with CCTV cameras

New Delhi, Auto Desk. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a big gift to the city of Pune on Sunday. PM Modi has dedicated a fleet of 150 electric buses made by OLECTRA Green to the citizens for public transport. Apart from this, Modi also inaugurated a state-of-the-art electric bus depot and charging station in Baner area of ​​Pune during a program. The Hyderabad-based e-bus maker said in a statement that Olectra currently operates 150 e-buses in the city for the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML).

What is special in this electric bus

Talking about the specialty of this bus, it has a seating capacity of 33 passengers in 12 meter air-conditioned buses. It is fitted with a CCTV camera for the safety of the passengers. There is an emergency button and USB socket for each seat. It is simply packed with a lithium-ion battery. The bus is capable of traveling around 200 kms on a single charge depending on the passenger load condition. The battery of this bus gets fully charged in 3-4 hours.

Apart from Pune, the company has its own fleet operating in Surat, Mumbai, Pune, Silvassa, Goa, Nagpur, Hyderabad and Dehradun. As in many cities the response from the commuters is encouraging. Concerned transport organizations are keen to expand their electric bus fleet. This organization is a part of Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited.
