Planex Communications has announced the GPE-2500-2T and GPE-2500-4T network adapters for use in desktop computers and workstations.
The novelties are based on the energy-efficient Realtek RTL8125B chip. The 2.5GbE standard is supported, that is, the throughput can reach 2.5 Gbps.
The GPE-2500-2T model is designed as a PCI Express 2.1 x1 expansion card. It is equipped with two network ports based on RJ45 connectors. Dimensions are 101 × 63 × 18 mm, weight – 48 g. Power consumption does not exceed 5 watts.
The GPE-2500-4T version has four network ports. This card is PCI Express 2.1 x4. The device has dimensions of 111 × 69 × 19 mm and weighs 78 g. Power consumption – no more than 7 watts.
Both novelties have a single-slot design and are content with passive cooling based on a radiator. Standard and reduced height mounting brackets are included in the scope of delivery, allowing the adapters to be used in a variety of case sizes, including small form factor solutions.
Planex GPE-2500-2T and GPE-2500-4T cards are priced at $80 and $135, respectively.
