Goods and Services Tax: The common man may be hit by inflation further. The GST Council, which regulates GST, has sought suggestions from the states to increase the tax GST slab on 143 items. According to the report published in The Indian Express of these 143 items, papad, jaggery, power bank, watch, suitcase, perfume, TV (32 inch), chocolates, clothes, goggles, frames, washbasins, walnuts, custard powder, hand bags, chewing gum, non-alcoholic drinks, glasses and leather articles may increase. Let us inform that the GST Council has suggested that the price of about 92 percent of these items should be shifted from the 18 percent GST tax slab to about 28 percent tax slab. Along with this, many things are also being considered by removing them from the Exempt List and bringing them under the purview of tax. Let us tell you that the GST Council can also take back the things for which the GST rates were cut in November 2017 and 2018.
These things will be out of the Exempt List
