Passenger Vehicle Sale: Sales at record level due to festive demand, 3.35 lakh passenger vehicles sold in November

 

Passenger vehicle sales reached an all-time high in November as manufacturers increased production and supply to meet the increased demand for vehicles during festivals. A total of 3.35 lakh passenger vehicles were sold during this period. This is 3.9 percent more than 3.22 lakh vehicles in November, 2022. Shashank Srivastava, senior executive officer, Maruti Suzuki India, said, the demand for SUVs continues to increase. The share of SUVs in total sales in November was more than 50 percent. The automobile industry is expected to sell more than 41 lakh units in the current financial year.

Demand for Maruti’s small cars declined by 45 percent, only 278 Ciaz were sold: Total sales of Maruti vehicles increased by 3.39 percent to 1,64,439 units. However, sales of the company’s small cars declined by 45.43 percent to 9,959 units. Only 278 units of Ciaz could be sold last month. Total sales of Hyundai vehicles increased by 3 percent to 65,801 units. Tata Motors’ total sales declined by 1.73 percent to 74,172 units. However, sales of e-passenger vehicles increased by 7%.

Boom in two wheelers too

Bajaj Auto’s two-wheeler sales increased by 31 percent to 4,03,003 units. Sales of TVS motor also increased by 31 percent and Honda motorcycle by 20 percent.

Ashok Leyland’s commercial vehicle sales increased by 3 per cent to 14,053 units. VE Commercial Vehicles sold a total of 5,194 vehicles, up 5.9 percent.

Now there will be only one charger for all two-wheeler EVs

In the coming time, the same charger can be used for two-wheeler EVs. EV companies are working together. A committee will be formed on this. After this the final decision will be taken on this. Just as only one charger is working for some mobile phones, this system will be introduced in the same way. Till now, companies have different chargers to charge two-wheeler EVs. This causes a lot of trouble to the customers. Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, says that once a charger is available, customers can charge the vehicle anywhere from any company’s charger. This will help in reducing e-waste. Besides, this will also save customers’ money.

More than 4.72 lakh vehicles sold in April-October

Phokela said, 4.72 lakh EVs have been sold from April to October. Companies are now bringing many new features. There is more demand for more expensive models. Expensive scooters account for 70 percent of total sales. The top four companies in the EV industry, Bajaj, Ola, Ather and TVS, have 80 per cent market share.
