The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has taken responsibility for the IED attack in Pakistan’s Kalat. Five soldiers of the Pakistan Army were killed in this attack on Tuesday. This attack took place in the Harboi area of Kalat. The BLA has issued a statement quoting spokesperson Jiyand Baloch, which has given details of the recent attack on the Pakistani Army.
BLA claimed that its members attacked a vehicle in the Pakistani Army convoy on Tuesday with a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED).
What did BLA say?
The group claims that five Pakistani military personnel were immediately killed and three others were seriously injured in the blast, including a major rank officer. The BLA further claimed that the vehicle targeted in the blast was completely destroyed.
According to the BLA statement, the Pakistani army was trying to move forward in Harboi and surrounding areas since 24 March 2025. The statement issued by the group said that its fighters successfully targeted the convoy, forcing the army to retreat the next day.
The casualties and retreat claims have not yet been independently confirmed, and the BLA’s statement has not referred to any official statement of Pakistani military officials. This is the third major attack by the BLA since March 10, when the Jafar Express was hijacked and more than 100 security personnel and citizens were killed. As the BLA claimed and last week, the Pakistani Army convoy was attacked in Noshki.
