In August the volume of shipments fell in numerical expression by 42,5%, in September – by 51,8%, and in October – by 46,8%: «Against this background there was some growth in the export of small-volume cars to Russia, – said specialist JETRO , which is closely related to the government of the country. However, the overall supply of used cars in Russia began to decline steadily after August. With the introduction of sanctions from June 2022 to July 2023, the export of cars has exceeded the previous year’s monthly figures for 14 consecutive months.
He added that before the entry into force of the current ban, Russia was the largest export market for Japanese used cars: «At the same time, the introduction of sanctions in August did not have a noticeable impact on the total volume of imports of cars from Japan, it continues to grow.
