OPPO may soon launch a new A-series smartphone in India. If the upcoming report is to be believed then the OPPO smartphone may very soon debut the OPPO A78 5G under the A-series. As the name suggests, the phone will be a 5G smartphone for the Indian market. The smartphone will be launched in India as the successor to the OPPO A77 and OPPO A77s.
Ahead of the official confirmation, some key details about the upcoming Oppo smartphone have leaked online. A new leak from Appuals claims that the OPPO A78 5G will launch in India in January. The launch date, specification and price of the phone have also been revealed in the report.
OPPO A78 5G: Key launch timeline and price
OPPO A78 5G will be launched in India as a new 5G smartphone. The company is said to be priced under Rs 20,000 in India. The Appuals report claims that the base model of the A78 5G will cost around Rs 19,000 in India. The report claims that the model number of the phone is CPH2495. The leaked screenshots suggest that it will launch with at least 8GB of RAM. The phone will also offer 4GB of virtual RAM support, which will be used from the 128GB of internal storage.
OPPO A78 5G: Specifications
Citing tipster Sudhanshu, the report also reveals that the phone will be powered by the Dimensity 700 SoC. The SoC is an entry-level 5G SoC, which has been used in several smartphones in India over the past year. The phone will have a strong 5000mAh battery in the A78 5G. The phone will also run on the latest Android 13 out-of-the-box. This smartphone of Oppo will have a layer of its custom ColorOS 13 skin on top of Android.

According to the report, the phone will have a 6.6-inch display. If A78 comes with 5G IPS LCD. The screen can see a standard 60Hz refresh rate. Dual-camera setup will be seen in the back of the phone. It will have a 50MP primary camera sensor and a 2MP secondary lens. The front camera of the phone will have an 8MP front camera.
OPPO A78 5G: When will it be launched?
There will be support for 33W fast charging through the USB Type-C port. Oppo is yet to officially confirm the launch details. The report states that the A78 5G will launch in India on January 14.
