Any citizen can open only one account under NPS. To open an NPS account, the help of a bank or any organization can be taken. At the same time, with the help of the government website, investment can also be made in the National Pension System. Before opening an account, first you have to activate your PRAN.
To open an NPS account, first go to ENPS.
Now click on NPS given below on the right side.
After this, proceed by entering Permanent Retirement Account Number, Date of Birth, Verify OTP and Captcha code.
After the completion of the verification process, you start the virtual account ID registration process.
Virtual Account ID will be generated for NPS Tier 1 or Tier 2.
Invest in NPS through SIP
After the Virtual ID is generated, you will have to log in to your bank’s net banking.
Here you will get Virtual ID and other information through email and SMS. Then you need to link your bank account with the NPS trustee as a beneficiary.
Now you can start the investment process by giving your PRAN, account, name and other details.
However, after joining the SIP, every month a fixed amount will be deposited from your account in the NPS scheme.
