OnePlus Unveils Groundbreaking Glacier Battery Tech on June 20th

On June 20th, OnePlus is set to unveil a revolutionary new smartphone battery technology called “Glacier Battery.” This innovation, co-developed with Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL), promises a significant leap forward in battery life, potentially eliminating the need for bulky power banks.

The announcement, confirmed by OnePlus on Weibo, positions Glacier Battery as a solution to the common frustrations of frequent charging and low battery anxiety. This next-generation technology aims to fundamentally change the smartphone battery experience.

The first device to benefit from Glacier Battery might be the upcoming OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. Rumors suggest this phone will boast a massive 6,100mAh battery, supported by 100W fast charging that can reportedly juice the phone from 0 to 100% in under 30 minutes. Despite the large battery size, the Ace 3 Pro is expected to maintain a sleek design with a profile of just 8mm.

While the official release date for the Ace 3 Pro remains under wraps, leaks suggest it will arrive sometime in the third quarter of 2024. The phone is rumored to sport a curved-edge display with a centrally located selfie camera. Other potential specifications include a 6.78-inch 1.5K resolution 8T LTPO display, a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a metal mid-frame, and a glass back.

The camera department of the Ace 3 Pro might feature a triple rear setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor. On the front, a 16-megapixel selfie camera is expected.

With the unveiling of Glacier Battery, OnePlus is poised to make a significant impact on the smartphone industry. This innovative technology, coupled with the rumored specs of the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, has generated excitement among tech enthusiasts. The coming months will reveal how Glacier Battery performs in real-world scenarios and whether it lives up to its promise of revolutionizing smartphone battery life.
