OnePlus 13s Debuts in India: A Compact Powerhouse with Next-Gen Features and a New User Experience

OnePlus has officially launched its highly anticipated OnePlus 13s in the Indian market, presenting it as the brand’s most compact offering to date. Priced starting at ₹54,999, the new smartphone integrates cutting-edge hardware with a redesigned user interface element, promising a premium experience in a smaller form factor.

The OnePlus 13s is available in three distinct finishes: Black Velvet, Pink Satin, and Green Silk. The latter two colors feature a unique “Velvet glass technology,” providing a soft, matte tactile experience. Weighing a mere 185 grams and measuring 8.2mm thick, the device prioritizes ergonomic comfort for single-handed use.

Central to its visual appeal is a vibrant 6.32-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate for fluid visuals. With a peak brightness of 1600 nits, the screen ensures excellent readability even under direct sunlight. Display protection comes in the form of Crystal Shield Glass, complemented by support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content.

A notable design shift on the OnePlus 13s is the introduction of the “Plus Key,” which replaces the familiar alert slider. This new customizable button offers users the flexibility to assign various quick actions, such as launching the camera, activating the flashlight, starting voice recordings, or changing ring modes.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 13s is powered by the latest and highly capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This robust chipset is engineered to handle demanding tasks, including intensive gaming, seamless multitasking, and heavy applications with effortless performance. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, ensuring rapid data access and overall system responsiveness. To maintain optimal temperatures during extended use, the device incorporates a 4400mm² Glacier Vapor Chamber Cooling System. Running on OxygenOS 15, based on Android 15, the phone also introduces several “Plus” branded intelligent features like “Plus Mind” for text, link, and photo saving, “Call Assistant” for real-time translation and call summaries, and “Voice Scribe” for transcription within communication apps.

For photography enthusiasts, the OnePlus 13s features a strong camera setup. It includes a 50MP main sensor (Sony LYT-700) equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a 50MP telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). Selfies and video calls are handled by a 32MP front camera. While the rear cameras support 4K video recording, the front camera is limited to 1080p. It is worth noting the absence of an ultra-wide-angle lens, which might be a consideration for some users.

Powering the device is a substantial 5,850mAh battery, quite generous for a compact phone. It supports 80W fast charging, though it lacks wireless charging capabilities.

Connectivity is robust with 5.5G network support, an 11-antenna 360-degree signal system, and a G1 Wi-Fi chipset designed for strong connections even in low-signal environments. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and dual-SIM 5G support. The phone holds an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance, though it is not fully waterproof. OnePlus is committing to 4 years of major software updates and 5 years of security updates for the device, which also features a metal frame and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Pre-bookings for the OnePlus 13s have already begun, with general sales scheduled to start on June 12 via Amazon India and the official OnePlus website. Customers purchasing the device with an SBI credit card can avail an instant discount of ₹5,000, bringing the effective starting price down to ₹49,999.
