OnePlus has officially confirmed the launch of the OnePlus 13R alongside the flagship OnePlus 13, touting the 13R as a “pocket powerhouse.” While the company has kept much of the OnePlus 13R’s specs under wraps, a recent slip-up by Amazon India has revealed a crucial detail: the smartphone will feature the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
The reveal came via Amazon India’s landing page for the OnePlus 13 series, which is set to debut on January 7, 2025. According to the page, the OnePlus 13R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the more premium OnePlus 13 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, as expected. This aligns with the pattern from the previous generation, where the OnePlus 12R featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
In addition to the processor, the Amazon listing hints at other key features of the OnePlus 13R, such as a sizable 6,000mAh battery and a range of AI-powered functionalities designed to enhance photo editing and productivity. Despite this, many details about the OnePlus 13R remain a mystery, though we expect more information to surface after the official launch of the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro in China on December 26, 2024. The Ace 5 is expected to serve as the basis for the OnePlus 13R, giving us a closer look at its design and capabilities.
OnePlus has also teased the color options for the OnePlus 13R, which will be available in Nebula Noir and Astral Trail.
