Ola Electric has increased its market share in the country’s electric two-wheeler market. The company has sold over 25,000 units in December. Its market share has increased to more than 30 percent. The company claims that its Ola S1 electric scooters have been a huge success.
Company founder Bhavish Aggarwal said that the last year has been important for Electric Vehicles (EV) in the country. He claimed that Ola Electric is the largest and fastest growing EV company in the country. He said, “We are committed to Mission Electric. We have increased EV penetration across the country. Ola Electric Has become the largest and fastest growing EV company in the country. EV sales are expected to grow rapidly this year.” Ola Electric started its business with the Direct to Customer (D2C) model. The company has increased the number of experience centers in the last few months.
Last year, the company faced difficulties due to cases of some of its electric scooters catching fire. Apart from this, complaints were also made regarding the range and quality of Ola’s electric scooters. Recently Ola Electric launched the affordable priced electric scooter Ola S1 Air. Its price has been kept lower than the company’s already existing Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro. Ola S1 Air has a battery capacity of 2.5 KWh and a top speed of 85kmph. The company had told that the new electric scooter gives an ARAI range of 101km and a range of 100km in normal conditions. Like other e-scooters of the company, it has been given features like music, navigation and reverse mode.
Ola Electric plans to launch some new electric two-wheelers. These could include a low-cost scooter, a premium motorcycle and a low-cost electric motorcycle. The company also plans to launch its first electric car in 2024. The company launched electric scooters in the international market sale has started. The company’s S1 and S1 Pro scooters are being sold in Nepal.
