NVIDIA is investigating the incident of a possible cyber attack on its internal systems, writes the British edition of The Telegraph . The GPU developer itself is not yet ready to provide details of this incident.
“We are investigating this incident. We cannot provide any additional information on this matter at the moment, ” a representative of NVIDIA commented to The Telegraph .
It is noted that NVIDIA during the alleged cyber attack was forced to temporarily disable part of its internal systems. The company has closed access to its internal mail servers, as well as application development tools, which are believed to have been compromised.
It is indicated that part of NVIDIA’s mail services was restored on Friday, but the company has not yet identified the source of the attack. Given the shutdown of mail services, it can be assumed that the internal confidential data of the GPU developer could be the object of the leak.
NVIDIA now needs to make sure that their systems are clean and that the software delivered to its customers does not contain potentially malicious code that could have been added during a cyber attack.
