In fact, Bhavish Aggarwal established Ola Electric as a brand that was delivering scooters to customers without a dealership or physical store. However, due to the increasing demand for scooters and the delay in home delivery, they changed the plan. With the opening of the dealership, it is expected that now Ola electric scooters will be available to the customers on time.
The Ola Electric showrooms will be called the Ola Experience Center and will house the Ola S1, S1 Pro and the recently launched S1 Air electric scooter. However, the company has not given information in which cities these dealerships will be opened. The company had earlier disclosed that it has opened 20 such experience centres. The company plans to open 200 experience centers by March 2023.
Currently, Ola Electric is the largest seller of electric scooters in the country in terms of sales volume. Ola Electric is also the first company to produce 1 lakh electric scooters at the fastest rate. The company is manufacturing electric vehicles at its Future Factory in Tamil Nadu.
Ola is currently manufacturing three electric scooters in India. These include the Ola S1, S1 Pro and S1 Air. Ola S1 Air has been launched recently and is the most affordable electric scooter from the company. Ola S1 Air has been made available at a price of Rs 84,999 (ex-showroom).
This scooter can be booked by paying Rs 999 on the company’s website. The company is going to start deliveries of S1 Air from February 2023. The company claims that the Ola S1 Air offers a proven range of 100 on a full charge. However, it has a range of 76 km in real conditions. Its top speed is 90 km/h. The company is using the same design platform as the S1 electric scooter in the S1 Air, but the battery and powertrain have been changed.
In Ola S1 Air, the company has given 2.5 kWh battery pack and 4.5 kW motor, due to which it weighs only 99 kg. The company has made it available in a total of 5 colors which include Coral Glam, Neo Mint, Porcelain White, Jet Black and Liquid Silver.
The company has registered the highest ever sales in October 2022 with 20,000 units. The company has left behind Hero Electric, Okinawa and Ather in sales. Ola Electric has said that the increase in production has led to better sales figures.
