Now mobile data consumption will be reduced in Facebook Messenger

Following in the footsteps of other app makers, Facebook has decided to add a data saver feature to its Messenger app. With this help, users will be able to reduce the consumption of cellular data. Data saver feature is already present in many web browsers. Recently, companies like Google and Shazam also informed about optimizing their apps for countries facing problems like network connectivity.

Right now the data saver feature has been added to the Android version of Facebook Messenger. However, this feature is in the testing phase. In such a situation, we have to see whether this feature is released for the iOS platform or not.

With the introduction of the data saver option, the user will have the right to download pictures and videos manually. If a friend shares a picture via Messenger, the app will no longer download it automatically. To turn on this feature, you have to go to the account settings of the Messenger app and tap on Data Saver here. Here the option of On has to be selected. Now the app will also tell you about data saving.

The app will automatically download videos and pictures whenever you are on a Wi-Fi network. With the help of data saver option, users will be able to control the consumption of cellular data in a more efficient way. And this will save money.
