Now it’s clear why Samsung is increasing prices for Galaxy S22 smartphones: some components have risen in price by 30-40%

Samsung is expected to launch its next-generation flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S series, in a few weeks. In anticipation of the official launch, new information has emerged that again confirms price increase for the entire line, but this time also an explanation for this is given.

The source says that due to the prices of future Samsung Galaxy S22 series phones will increase due to the global chip shortage. Prices for several important components for smartphones have risen by 30-40%, while prices for power management chips and image sensors have increased by 10-15%.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 is reportedly starting at $899, up $100 more than its predecessor. There is other evidence that the company may stick to the same price as the Galaxy S21 series, however this is unlikely.

Samsung is expected to launch three models including the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra. The phones will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 single-chip systems or their own Exynos 2200 SoC, depending on the region of availability.

The standard Galaxy S22 is expected to be the compact flagship of the South Korean giant with a 6.06-inch display with a maximum brightness of 1000 cd/m2. S22+ and Ultra models will have the highest brightness on phones at 1750 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1. The Galaxy S22 Plus will have a 6.55-inch display, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 6.81-inch display. The Ultra model will have an S-Pen slot. The phones will support 45-watt charging.

The company itself Samsung indirectly confirms Galaxy S22 release date and return of Galaxy Note design in Galaxy S22 Ultra.
