BIAL announces the launch of the first phase of ‘BLR Metaport’
BLR Airport’s T2 can now be accessed in the Metaverse
It has been developed in partnership with Amazon Web Services and Polygon.

New Delhi. Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), the operator of Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport), on Tuesday announced the launch of the first phase of ‘BLR Metaport’. BIAL said in a statement that with this new launch, T2 of BLR airport has become one of the first terminals in the world, which can be experienced on Metaverse.

It has been developed in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Polygon. BLR Metaport will offer an immersive, three-dimensional (3D) virtual experience of the newly launched Terminal 2 of BLR Airport.

How to access:

According to news agency PTI, the statement said that interested travelers and citizens can log on to www.Blrmetaport.Com and take a virtual tour through their device. BLR Metaport is the outcome of the Joint Innovation Center (JIC). It was announced by BIAL, AWS and Intel in April this year.

BLR Metaport is designed to deliver an enhanced digital experience to travelers. Users will be able to access the airport through Metaport’s 3D interface. Be it navigating the terminal, shopping or checking flights.

BIAL’s Chief Strategy and Development Officer Satyaki Raghunath said that this is our first step into the world of Web3 and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

The statement said that BLR Metaport is built on the basic principles of decentralization, where control and decision making is transferred from a centralized unit to a distributed network. It uses the Polygon blockchain. BLR Metaport is built on AWS.
