Nothing, the tech company founded by Carl Pei, unveiled the Nothing Phone (2) in July last year, raising anticipation for its successor, the Phone (3), expected to debut this year.
However, recent leaks and speculations about the launch of the Phone (3) have been scarce, hinting at a delay in its release. Today, Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, officially announced that the Nothing Phone (3) is scheduled for launch next year, in 2025.
While most high-end smartphones follow an annual release cycle, Nothing is taking a different approach with the Phone (3). Instead of rushing its launch, the company aims to redefine user experience by integrating advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities at the system level, promising a more personalized and dynamic interface.

Pei hinted at a shift towards a “post-app world,” suggesting a paradigm where AI plays a central role in enhancing user interactions. This move signifies Nothing’s commitment to innovation in the consumer AI space.
The decision to postpone the Phone (3) launch may also stem from the performance of its predecessor. If the Nothing Phone (2) fell short of expectations while its variant, the Phone (2a), fared better, Nothing may be strategizing to ensure the success of the Phone (3) by introducing significant UI enhancements and innovative features.
While details about the Nothing Phone (3) remain scarce, the delay indicates a deliberate effort by Nothing to deliver a groundbreaking device that could potentially redefine the smartphone landscape. However, until an official announcement is made, speculations about its features and performance will continue to circulate.
