Nothing is gearing up to launch its new smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2), in India. The CEO of Nothing, Carl Pei, has confirmed its launch in July during an interview.
Pei revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) will feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC chipset, marking a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the Nothing Phone (1). While the Nothing Phone (1) falls under the mid-range category, speculations suggest that the Nothing Phone (2) might be positioned in the premium segment within the mid-price range.
When asked why they chose the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 over the new 8 Gen 2 for the Phone (2), Pei emphasized the improved optimization of the former through various updates. He stressed the company’s focus on enhancing user experience rather than merely being the first in the race.
Pei also confirmed that the Phone (2) will feature a larger 4700mAh battery compared to the 4500mAh battery of the Phone (1). Highlighting the importance of the American market for the company’s success, Pei hinted at the company’s plans for the Phone (2).
Earlier, Pei stated that the Phone (2) would launch in the US, envisioning it as a viable alternative to the iPhone and seeing a significant opportunity in the US market, where Apple holds considerable dominance.
As of now, there isn’t much information available about the Nothing Phone (2). However, rumors suggest that the upcoming phone may improve upon some features compared to its predecessor. Speculations hint at the possibility of an FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and storage options up to 256GB, with models possibly available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB configurations, similar to the Phone (1).
