Sometimes the reservation of the train is completed in advance and all the seats are booked. In such a situation, ‘Tatkal ticket booking’ is the only way left. But it is also true that even booking Tatkal tickets on your own is not everyone’s bus. All available seats are booked within minutes of the opening of Tatkal quota. What should be done when a similar situation arises and how to get the booking confirmed. These methods are described next. First of all, let us tell you that Tatkal quota opens at 10 am which is for AC coaches. Whereas tatkal booking for Sleeper coach starts at 11.00 am.
1. Make a list in advance
All the details of those who are going to travel in the train should be saved in their profile beforehand. This will include name and age etc. This list can be created in the Profile section of your account on IRCTC. If the list is ready in advance, then these details will not have to be filled again at the time of ticket booking and that time will be saved.
2. Be ready to login
Even the elders have been thinking that ‘controlling, quarrel is liar’. This also applies to ticket booking. Don’t wait for the Tatkal booking to open but log-in your ID in advance. Along with ID login, pre-fill the details like train route, station code, berth selection and as soon as the tatkal quota is opened, select the names of the passengers in the already saved passenger list and go to the payment mode.
3. Keep Bank Details and CVV in Front
You will save a lot of time by preparing the passenger list in advance and filling the details in the ID login in advance. But when it comes to payment, often people either get confused or get nervous. In such a situation, prepare your bank details well in advance. If possible, make someone sit nearby so that he keeps on speaking the number and you keep typing. At the same time, unlock the number on which the OTP will come and keep it with you.
4. Make payment without OTP
When payment is made by entering banking details, OTP is received on the registered mobile number, which is verified and payment is made. By the way, there are many ways to make payment on IRCTC, which include internet banking, wallet and UPI etc. But we are of the opinion that if you want to save time it is better to opt for UPI. In this way, you will only have to enter your UPI password and OTP will not be required.
5. Internet Speed
You are sure that you will do all the above-mentioned processes with great understanding and smartness. But if the internet has deceived you then all the hard work will be wasted. That is why it is advisable to make sure in advance that you have a good internet connection. If there is a place where the internet speed is good, then start booking by sitting at that place. One thing must be kept in mind here that the same system and browser login your ID. If the same ID is login in different systems then there can be problems.
