Until recently, accessing ChatGPT required mandatory registration for an OpenAI account. However, the company has recently announced plans to streamline access to the free version of the AI bot. In the near future, anyone will be able to use it, even without creating an account.
This innovation not only simplifies access to the free version of ChatGPT but also extends its availability to users in countries where OpenAI services were previously inaccessible. Previously, users in these regions had to resort to using temporary foreign phone numbers to receive registration confirmation codes.
However, this new method of using ChatGPT comes with its limitations. Without an account, users cannot transfer conversation histories to other devices or resume interrupted conversations later. Additionally, users accessing the chatbot for free will not have the option to subscribe to a paid version of the more advanced neural network.
The rollout of this innovation will occur gradually, and it is not yet available in all regions.
