No more unwanted calls and messages! TRAI has issued instructions to all telecom operators

Unwanted Calls and Messages? TRAI Takes Action!

Here’s some good news for smartphone users in India! The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued strict instructions to all telecom operators to combat the issue of unwanted calls and messages. This means you can expect fewer interruptions and a more peaceful phone experience.

TRAI Cracks Down on Unwanted Calls and Messages

Previously, many users in India reported receiving up to 5-10 unwanted calls and messages daily. This frustration is now expected to decrease as TRAI’s new regulations take effect. Telecom companies will be required to implement stricter measures to prevent these unwanted communications from reaching consumers.

But There’s Still More You Can Do

While TRAI’s actions are a positive step, you can also take steps on your own to further reduce unwanted calls and messages. Most Android smartphones have built-in blocking features.

How to Block Unwanted Calls on Android (Using Stock Android 11):

  1. Open the Phone app and switch to the Recents list.
  2. Press and hold the number you want to block.
  3. From the pop-up menu, select Block/Report Spam.
  4. In the results window, you can optionally check the Report call as spam box. (Select this only if you believe it’s actual spam.)
  5. Confirm your choice by tapping Block again.

Taking Control of Your Phone Experience

By combining TRAI’s new regulations with your own blocking tools, you can significantly reduce unwanted calls and messages on your Android phone. Now you can enjoy a more peaceful and uninterrupted mobile experience.
