Nitin Gadkari said, ‘The price of lithium-ion batteries is coming down rapidly. We are developing zinc-ion, aluminum-ion, sodium-ion batteries. In a maximum of two years, the cost of electric scooters, cars, auto rickshaws will be at par with petrol-powered scooters, cars and auto-rickshaws.

According to the Union Minister, ‘It will be beneficial if you are spending 100 rupees on petrol today, then this cost will come down to 10 rupees in running an electric vehicle.’ It is worth noting that a few days back Nitin Gadkari had launched the Green Hydrogen Fuel Car. Actually, Nitin Gadkari is constantly trying to promote electric vehicles.

A green hydrogen-powered car will cost less than Re 1 per km, while a petrol car costs Rs 5-7 per km. Now there the company manufacturer is also working on electric vehicles. This pilot project includes the FCEV Toyota Mirai car from Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
