Nissan to release 27 new electrified models by 2030

As part of Nissan’s long-term Ambition 2030 strategy, which was announced back in 2021, Nissan Motor Company initially announced its plans to produce 23 electrified vehicles, including 15 electric vehicles, by 2030. Now, Nissan has revised its plan.

Nissan will increase the number of models to meet growing customer demand for interesting and diverse electrified vehicles by introducing 27 new electrified models, including 19 new electric vehicles, by fiscal year 2030. The total electrification of Nissan and Infinity models will increase to more than 55% globally by 2030, compared to the previous forecast of 50%.

The forecast for the structure of sales of electrified vehicles in the main markets in fiscal year 2026 has also been adjusted:

    • Europe: 98% (was 75%)

    • Japan: 58% (was 55%)

    • China: 35% (was 40%)

By fiscal year 2030, 40% of Nissan vehicles sold in the US will be electric vehicles.

This will increase global sales of electrified vehicles from a target of 40% when the concept was announced to over 44% by fiscal year 2026. To accommodate the rapid market changes in China, Nissan plans to launch an electric vehicle designed specifically for this market in 2024.
